Our Team of Professionals
North Star Child Development Center's philosophy is based on every child deserving the
very best education by facilitating the learning process and striving to provide a warm
enriched environment. That happens because our staff is made up of highly trained
individuals who are dedicated to providing quality care in everything we do.
Our Management Team brings over 30 years experience in business management,
education and psychology. We bring dedication to delivering the very best child care
program by providing educated staff, where they challenge and encourage your children
to expand their knowledge, discover new skills, and explore vast areas of interest. In
return our management team is focused on improving our environment, providing full
work weeks, vacations, and health benefits to our employees!
The Training Department is located on-site and specializes in many areas such as IBI,
DT, Gen Ed, Curriculum, PECs, Discrete Trial, and CPR/First Aid, Developmental Specialist
Training, just to name a few. This team is very dynamic and brings an unmatched quality
to our programs and strives to keep our staff updated with new technologies and
information.
Each of our Intensive Behavioral Therapists (IBI) have obtained their Bachelor
Degrees in Education or Psychology, with many completing Developmental Specialist
certifications. Each are certified through the State of Idaho. Therapists are required to
obtain 12 hours of training per year, and each spend countless hours researching,
attending conferences and trainings within the community.
Our Teachers in each of our classrooms go above and beyond educational standards to
create the best learning environment possible. By adding music and movement, a love
for creativity and arts, and TLC, our teachers strive to have the quality care that each
child deserves here at North Star. Teachers also attend trainings and workshops in the
community over and above the required 8 hours per year.
CSC (Children's Service Coordination) is our newest department and offers CSC for
children 3 - 17. We are excited to bring Tracy Hofius's experience and both a
professional and as a parent to oversee this department. This service facilitates
communications, assists in Medicaid paperwork and appeals, keeps parents informed of
new research, keeps parents up-to-date on Medicaid changes, and so much more! If
your child is receiving Medicaid services, then your child is eligible! We look forward to
advocating and ensuring your children are receiving the best care possible.
Our Board of Directors is made up of a very diverse team of community leaders! We
have carefully selected a Board of Directors with backgrounds in Business Management,
Banking, Marketing, Training, Human Services and Naturopathic medicine. They make
every effort to provide North Star with leadership and direction, while overseeing our
budget, mission, and vision of North Star.
